Websterss   4. [I4] Reports (recent work, current work, any blockers?) (by: resl)22:13
reslReports: Jack learning HTML, CSS, NextCloud, and starting to work on a mockup with Kara for a Django app. Rachel has been onboarding interns to May First, NextCloud, BT, IRC, etc. and meeting with Yolonda/Lazera and Kei about Decidim, NextCloud projects. Aaron has been checking his work on BT month view and is ready for the other devs to review his changes and merge if all good.22:17
reslKei has been doing admin work with Rachel and planning with Yolonda/Lazera, no blockers. Sahnun has been working with Zonny to get feedback on his changes to the SJC site. Following up on that again soon. No blockers. Jeff has been in Liberia with the Jetro Web Development team. Jeff has been role-playing with Jetro members via email to go through the process of accepting requests from new clients and communicating about next steps 22:19
reslJeff has been emailing people asking them if they need work because he thinks we are simply waiting for clients to come along.22:21
reslThomas and Daniel have been working with Jeff and getting prepared to work on projects that might require their help soon enough. Tony has been working on how to structure the database management system or "association management system" (AMS). Kara has been going through on-boarding onto May First, NextCloud, Business Tracker, etc., working on a mockup Django app with Jack, learning sociocracy, and working on the library system wit22:24
resl...system app22:24
reslItem from jelkner - Discuss implications of NYC MoU with Decidim for NWD22:25
reslJeff shared the news that NYC signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Decidim to use the platform for participatory governance like budgetinng 22:26
reslTony notes that currently NYC works with a nonprofit called Open Source Politics who is supporting the instance for NYC's participatory budgeting that uses Decidim. The MoU was specifically about NYC dedicating some funds to Decidim proper.22:32
reslJeff notes that the NYC Decidim team is in touch with Voca closely and offer us a model of how NWD might be able to work in the future.22:32
reslItem from jelkner - Find work for Jetro devs22:33
anthony_pJeff corrected Tony that Open Source Politics is actually a for profit french company, and represents a possible path for us to provide support for decidim to customers22:34
reslJeff says that we need to find work for the Jetro team.22:34
reslSahnun notes that we need to clearly establish among ourselves what our niche is and from there, we will be able to look for work that fits that.22:35
smohamudAgree we need to ensure we have capacity for development/sales/marketing/customer service work. Rachel started but we probably should document again what our capcity is so we don't disappoint customers / churn customers...22:42

jelknerSJC can continue to support two full time folks at Jetro22:46
jelknerBut not more than 222:46
jelknerso the breakthrough will come when we can fund a 3rd member from paid client work22:46
jelknerGabriel is ready and willing22:46
jelknerbut we need revenue22:47
reslRachel notes that it will be helpful if everyone who has not done so yet, including the Jetro team members, can decide for themselves on a schedule they can commit to work so that the admins have a sense of the capacity we have for labor. Please include the work you can do and the pace at which you work (conservative estimate) - Rachel will send the form to the interns and the Jetro team now that the NWD folks have replied to it.22:48
reslDaniel explains that in Jetro, the grant money each month is enough to pay both Thomas and Daniel for 40 hours per week, Thomas doing development and Daniel doing administrative work. Shallon and Janet volunteer to help sometimes and will be grateful to do the work once it can be paid, as we gain clients we can serve.22:53

reslFacilitator next meeting will be Simon if Simon can make it but if he can't make it, then Kara or Josh can facilitate, assuming they will have gone through the sociocracy process. Rachel will send sociocracy materials tonight to them (the primer videos are now behind an account creation step so we will try to get around that)23:10
